孤独的树—a lonely tree

A blustering wind brought about two seeds from faraway forest, scattering them in the field. Rainwater wetted them, earth buried them, and sunshine warmed them. Upon that, they grew up into two trees.

Initially, they were very low. But time without heart pulled them high so that they can look farther than ever.

They can see each other.

The field is very far-flung and in sight until the end of verdant plains. There are no others trees in sight except for the two trees distant from each other standing in the middle of the field. Their branches intertwine and seem to be a strange ruler of measuring the field.

They look and adore each other in the distance. But when the spring is coming, the strength of life gives them warmth, abundant sap flowing through their body, which reminds them of the everlasting forest where they never come back.

They shake their branches tacitly as gesture to each other silently. When a little bird like the mind flies from a tree to another tree, they are so happy that they quiver.

When a fierce storm is coming, they wave in fear and trembling so that their branches snap, groaning and crying. They seem to want to free themselves from the land, running to each other and supporting closely, to save themselves from their hug.

When the night comes, they disappear into the dark and separate again. Their misery is like haunting serious illness. They look up to the sky pleadingly, expecting the God to bring them brilliant sunshine so that they can see each other again.

If the hunter and farmer sit down to rest in the shade of one of them, another would mutter mirthlessly, pouring bitterly how afflictive the lonely life is and how slow, heavy, unmeaning the life without relatives is. Their dream vanishes due to the lack of understanding. Their hope comes to end because of failure. The love without solace is very miserable; the plight without family love is insufferable.
